HappyOrNot, the global leader in instant employee and customer satisfaction reporting, is proud to provide the 2016 benchmark for employee engagement at this year’s Association for Talent Development (ATD) International Conference and Exposition. Based on 4.2 million feedbacks collected in 2016 from more than 600 companies, the global study reveals that the average workday satisfaction benchmark score to be 75.6%. For many companies like Nike, eBay, Microsoft and Dixons Carphone collecting, tracking and improving benchmark scores help them to make more informed decisions about company culture and strategies.

Feedbacks were provided by employees from companies using the HappyOrNot Smiley Terminal™ to track continuous measurement of job satisfaction. The Benchmark Score is the percentage of all positive feedback received in 2016. “We found that a great work environment with high employee satisfaction are the key factors which contribute to employee loyalty and productivity, and attracting new talent,” says Heikki Väänänen, CEO and Founder, HappyOrNot.  He continues, “External industry benchmark provides an extra level of context when monitoring the pulse of your daily work atmosphere. Over time, you can compare results which will allow you to see changes in employee sentiment, measure your progress, and make improvements.”

Take for example Vincit, awarded as the Best Place to Work in Europe 2016 by Great Place to Work® Institute, which had a benchmark score of 93% in 2016. The software development company, with branch offices in Finland and US, immediately saw that satisfaction improved significantly – over 10% in just two months – after improvement actions were made based on the result data shown via HappyOrNot. “Losing an employee costs an average of $40,000. As a company, we are dedicated to ensuring and securing our ROI on all new hires,” says Mikko Kuitunen, CEO.

Each year ATD holds the largest US HR Conference and Trade Show in the field providing the most choices for professional development. For an in-person demonstration of the Smiley Terminal™, Web Smileys™, and Reporting Service, visit HappyOrNot at Booth #1022 on May 21-24 at the Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, Georgia.
